I Capture The Castle
A musical based on the iconic coming-of-age novel by Dodie Smith; book and lyrics by Teresa Howard, music by Steven Edis. We received an Arts Council Grant for the Arts to help bring a full production of the show into being. It premiered in April 2017 at the Watford Palace Theatre (a WPT/Bolton Octagon co-production in association with Kevin Wallace Ltd) and played subsequently at Bolton and also at the Oxford Playhouse. Discussions currently ongoing for a national commercial tour.

Reviews….
Steven Edis’s score is a beaut, combining lilting English folk, swing and cocktail jazz with some genuinely hummable tunes. Claire Allfree, Daily Telegraph
[The music] borrows with magpie smartness from the sounds of the 1930s and billows and aches with romantic feeling while largely avoiding the sentimental. Some feat. Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
The musical styles are varied; recurring number The Diary Song is bewitching and melodic, the stand out tune you will find yourself humming on the way home. May Mellstrom, thereviewshub.com
