The Silver Sword

The Silver Sword

Adapted from the book by Ian Seraillier by Susie McKenna and Steven Edis. Book by Susie McKenna, music and lyrics by Steven Edis. As befits the story, the music is largely Central European in flavour with side-orders of Noel Coward and American swing. This show was premiered at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre in 2015, followed by a UK tour. It was co-produced by the Belgrade and Selladoor in association with our company McKenna & Edis Ltd.

Reviews…

“…beautifully composed … ” thereviewshub.com

“As a piece of new music theatre, The Silver Sword is superb, with an evocative musical score composed by Steven Edis flowing seamlessly from comic ballad to haunting lullaby….. Engaging, beautifully crafted and with a strong message at its heart The Silver Sword is the sort of theatre we should be producing and championing to young audiences across the UK and beyond.”

“Like all successful musicals, the music structures the play wonderfully… The music and lyrics were constructed with such emotional brilliance that I found myself brought to tears of both happiness and heartbreak.” Maja Karpowicz, redbrick.me
