@Neil_Bastian They are very similar indeed. C has a G within it, Am has an A instead. (Don't get too hooked into "minor=sad".) The main difference is in the bass, so if you're playing gtr in a band that also has a bass, you barely need to worry, as either A or G will fit into most scenarios.
